This plank-on-frame kit is built over a laser-cut construction jig with molds at each station, replicating true frame-and-plank hull construction as used on the original boat. Cherry wood is supplied for the frames and deck beams, while hull and quarterdeck planking, floorboards, and mold stiffeners are flexible basswood, with the rabbet and bearding lines laser-engraved directly onto the keel/stem/sternpost parts for accuracy. The fittings package includes ten oars, eight lathe-turned wooden barrels, a wooden chest, a cast metal (Britannia) grapnel/anchor, brass gudgeons and pintles, plus cotton sails and rigging cordage. The box includes five sheets of plans and an illustrated instruction manual, and is rated for an intermediate-level/beginning ship modeler.
